1. The well-known Tesla company has converted an entire island to solar energy. The island of Ta'u in American Samoa used to consume 1150 liters of diesel fuel daily to power its generators. Today, Tesla has replaced all of that with 6 megawatt-hours of solar panels and batteries.
2. The German state of Bavaria is one of the cleanest places in the world in terms of the environment. It has more solar energy installations than the entire United States.
3. The Niagara Falls served as the main landmark that inspired the spread of hydroelectric power plants in modern times. The first hydroelectric power station and the first power station distributing alternating current were built there.
4. Iceland primarily generates energy for the entire country through geothermal and hydroelectric power. Their energy essentially comes from a 100% renewable energy source. It is expected that the country will be the first in the world to exist entirely without traditional fuel, and this is projected to happen in just a few decades.
5. Even 30 years after the Chernobyl disaster, radiation makes agriculture and logging too dangerous in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone. Therefore, Ukraine is currently working on plans to transform this zone into a vast solar farm.
